There are several questions that reoccur regarding this Platinum type of Frenchies. Let’s dive in and get to some real facts!

What is a Platinum French bulldog?

A Platinum French bulldog is a rare and expensive type of French bulldog breed. French bulldogs, also known as “Frenchies,” are a popular breed known for their playful and affectionate personalities, as well as their distinctive appearance. Frenchies are cute and small dogs with a stocky build, large bat-like ears, and a short snout.

Platinum Frenchies are a variation of the breed that is characterized by a unique coat color. The coat is a pale, platinum silver color, which is unusual for Frenchies, who are typically fawn, brindle, or white in color. Platinum Frenchies are highly sought after by breeders and buyers, and they can command a high price due to their rarity.

Differences between standard and rare Frenchies

Platinum French Bulldogs are usually less aggressive than regular French Bulldogs because of their latent qualities. No, we are not saying that Frenchies are aggressive. However, this specific type is a real softie perfect for families with children.

Often, Platinum Frenchies are mixed up with regular cream French bulldogs. Their colors do look similar, but their genes are different. You can easily differentiate between Platinum and cream Frenchies simply by looking at their nose, eyes, paw pads, and lips.

Platinum French bulldogs will have dilutions in these places due to their recessive genes. On the other hand, cream ones will have black noses, paw pads, eyes, and lips.

The most important recessive gene that makes Platinum Frenchies is the “cream coloring” gene. It can be found at the “E” locus and is scientifically referred to as “ee.” The Blue gene found in D locus (dd) follows as the 2nd most important recessive gene. There is also the Coco gene “Cc” and the Brown chocolate gene.

It’s important to note that there is no official standard for the Platinum French Bulldog breed. Some breeders may use the term to describe Frenchies with a unique coat color, while others may breed Frenchies specifically for this color.

How much is a Platinum French bulldog?

Because of the exotic look of these dogs, most people often ask the question: “What is the price of these Platinum Frenchies?”

The cost of a Platinum French Bulldog varies depending on a number of factors. The most common factors are the breeder, location, and the specific characteristics of the dog. French Bulldogs are generally considered to be a relatively expensive breed, and Platinum Frenchies are usually even more expensive due to their rarity.

According to some estimates, the cost of a French Bulldog puppy can range from $1,500 to $30,000 or more in some cases. It usually depends on the breeder and the specific characteristics of the dog.

The cost of a Platinum French Bulldog is usually around $10,000 and higher. The demand for this rare variation of the breed grows daily which can affect the price on the market.

Is a platinum French bulldog approved by the AKC?

The American Kennel Club (AKC) does not recognize the Platinum French Bulldog as a distinct breed. The AKC recognizes the French Bulldog as a breed but does not have a specific standard for Platinum Frenchies. The AKC’s breed standard for French Bulldogs describes the acceptable colors for the breed as brindle, fawn, white, and combinations of these colors. It does not mention the Platinum coloration as an acceptable variation.

That being said, the AKC does allow French Bulldogs with a Platinum coat color to be registered and participate in AKC events, as long as they meet the other requirements for the breed. To be eligible for AKC registration, a French Bulldog must have purebred parents who are both registered with the AKC. It also must meet the breed standard in terms of appearance, temperament, and health.

It’s also good to be aware of the potential health issues that Frenchies, including Platinum Frenchies, may be prone to. Purchasing more quality dogs from established breeders will reduce the chance of excessive health issues.
